To mark International Women's Day 2023, we invited our wonderful community to participate in a campaign celebrating the women all around us.

We asked BEC + BRIDGE followers to tell us about a woman in their life that inspires them and what makes them proud to be a woman. Each and every response was unique, with stories that were heartwarming, powerful and truly inspiring.

LILY + GRACE

SISTERS

In 2018, Grace donated her kidney to save Lily’s life. The surgery had a huge range of risks to both of them, including potential implications for the ability to have children. Despite all of this, Grace selflessly put her sister's life above her own. Several years on, both Grace and Lily advocate for women’s rights and healthcare. Grace and Lily have matching tattoos outlining the date they underwent life changing surgery, as a memento for the day that changed their lives forever.

RIFA + LAMINA

COUSINS + BEST FRIENDS

The energy of Rifa and Lamina is contagious. They shared stories of headstrong women in their families who have overcome the odds to redefine what they saw as the path for women. Rifa and Lamina expressed their gratitude for having role models that have shown them that women can have it all, do it all, and have a voice of power as long as they back themselves and those around them.

ERIN + REYNAIDA

MOTHER + DAUGHTER

Erin shared her deep admiration for her Mother, Reynaida. Reynaida inspired us with selflessness and unwavering commitment to those she loves. From prioritizing her children to taking on the responsibility of caring for her ageing parents, she has gone above and beyond to ensure that her loved ones are taken care of. Even in the face of great personal loss, she put her own life and career on hold to support her family. Through it all, Erin's mother has shown incredible strength and grace (and fantastic dance moves while on set).

PEERAYA + BRITTANY

BEST FRIENDS

Peeraya and Brittany have an unwavering support for one another. Both women grew up with strong role models within their family, leading by example to display just how capable women are.

These lessons have allowed them to lift up each other, as well as the community around them and inspire them to push their own boundaries to achieve their dreams.

ERIKA

DAUGHTER

Erika talked to us about her incredible love for her Mother, Joy. Despite growing up with challenging circumstances that forced her to start working at just 10 years old, she has been a beacon of joy and light for generations within their family. Her fearless determination and hard work paid off, allowing her family access to an education and endless opportunities. Her selflessness and generosity are truly inspiring, and she is a testament to the power of love, family and women.
