CELEBRATING 'HOT THING'

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 25th

During Melbourne Fashion Week, we hosted an intimate dinner with friends of the brand to celebrate the launch of our Resort '23 collection, 'HOT THING.'
The evening was thoughtfully curated by Sophie McIntyre from Club Sup. Born out of a challenging year when we were physically disconnected, Sophie started Club Sub with the hope of rekindling a sense of community. She hosts a small group of people each month in Melbourne and Sydney, providing a platform for engaging in conversations and fostering new connections.

We had the pleasure of connecting with Sophie and learning more about Club Sup, her top tips for hosting a dinner party, and how you can attend their upcoming events.

WHAT IS CLUB SUP + WHY DID YOU START IT?

I started the club in 2021 after the extensive lockdowns in Melbourne. I noticed that lots of people felt their social circles had been disrupted by personal growth, moving away or babies. I just felt there had to be a place for people to come and find somewhere to make a friend.

TOP TIPS ON HOSTING A DINNER PARTY?

Don’t overthink it. Cook something really simple that you’ve done before or if you must, just one hard thing. Put the food on for everyone and get everyone to bring a wine or a dessert.

No big lights! Candles or lamps if you can and play moody calm tunes.

WHAT INFLUENCES YOUR CREATIVITY TO FOOD AND DINNER EVENTS?

I think it comes a lot from what makes me feel cosy and at home. I often think about what would I love and what would make me feel happy or nostalgic and usually, that’s where my creativity comes from. I’m lucky I have experiences to draw from however if I can’t I’ll open a cookbook and just flick through the pages until I think of something.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE SUMMER RECIPE?

It’s either a prawn sandwich or a Niçoise salad so fresh and easy to make and both don’t require you to turn the oven.

WHAT'S NEXT FOR CLUB SUP AND HOW CAN WE JOIN THE NEXT DINNER EVENT?

There is so much on for club sup but mainly into next year. We are expanding our types of events so we can offer more to more people. We are launching our Book Swap in Sydney at the end of November which I’m really excited about. It had such a great response in Melbourne! That saying our suppers will always be happening across both Sydney and Melbourne.
