Introducing Can She Crochet; a Sydney-based fashion business known for its unique, hand-crocheted designs. Embodying the essence of summer, the designs are bright in colour, playful in style, and perfect for sunny adventures.
We’re thrilled to feature this creativity in this season's Vacation Edit, with the team collaborating to design the Violetta Knit Triangle Top. This standout piece reimagines the classic triangle shape with a bold floral statement centre and additional straps that add drama to flatter the figure.
Each Can She Crochet piece is designed and handcrafted by Candice Liu, our talented in-house Creative Content Assistant. We sat down with Candice to learn more about her business and the inspiration behind the designs.
WHEN AND WHY DID YOU START CAN SHE CROCHET?
I began Can She Crochet in late March 2023, inspired during a road trip back from Byron Bay. While my crochet bikini from Bali hung on the car grab handle, drying in the wind, I could not shake the idea of creating something similar myself. That moment sparked the inception of Can She Crochet.
IF CAN SHE CROCHET WERE A PERSON, HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE HER?
She would be a creative and adventurous individual who’s unafraid to venture into the unknown. Her spirit would be free-spirited and determined, ready to embark on new crafting journeys and explore innovative patterns and techniques. Unwaveringly authentic, she shines as the most unique version of herself, recognising the inner light that sets her apart.
WHERE DO YOU DRAW INSPIRATION FROM IN THE DESIGN PROCESS?
My primary inspiration is nature. The vibrant colours and intricate patterns in the natural world continuously captivate me. Whether it's the delicate petals of a blooming flower, the rhythmic waves of the ocean, or the mesmerising hues of a sunset, nature offers an endless array of beauty and wonder for me to draw upon.

The balance between elegance and versatility. The Violetta Triangle Top features three adjustable ties, offering a customisable fit and flattering silhouette for every body type. I carefully incorporated these details to enhance the top's adaptability without compromising its simplicity.
WHAT ARE SOME GOALS YOU HAVE FOR CAN SHE CROCHET?
I hope to expand the product range beyond tops to include more unique and beautifully designed crochet items, ensuring everyone who wears them feels special and unique. I also dream of creating a space where creative people can connect and crochet our way to something beautiful together!
